For this 5 week project, we were challenged to reverse engineer a Bluetooth, waterproof, speaker and redesign it for a specific target user. My team focused on street vendors, studying how they work and use sound in their environment. We conducted interviews and user research to understand their needs. We then sketched, prototyped, and built a functional speaker that was durable, modular, and expressive. We named it GRILL, inspired by its interchangeable front grills and customizable features. Along with the product, we developed a full brand identity, packaging, and marketing direction to bring the design to life and connect it to real users.
